Starting nursery can feel overwhelming, which is why we’ve compiled a list of the most frequently asked questions to help you through the process.

Application

  • When can I apply?

    We recommend visiting your local nursery during an open day, or for a personal tour, and then applying with us as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.

Sessions and Availability

  • How do I check availability?

    Contact us on 07907392637 or email info@littletreasuredaycare.co.uk to for the latest session availability. Once enrolled your Nursery Manager can let you know of additional sessions if you would like to book more for your child.

  • Is there a minimum amount of sessions?

    Yes, all children attend a minimum of 2 half day sessions or 1 full day each week.

Learning

  • What is the curriculum?

    Little Treasure uses the standard Matters guide for teaching and learning milestones and incorporates the 7 areas of the EYFS Framework into our teaching approaches.

  • What is the daily routine?

    Routines vary for our babies, toddlers and pre-schoolers but each day consists of circle/group time, focused activities, indoor and outdoor play. Breakfast, Lunch and Tea are provided along with afternoon snack.

  • Do you take children off site?

    We often do trips to local parks, libraries, museums and aquariums.

  • How do you prepare children for school?

    We have a School Readiness program to help our pre-schoolers learn independence with dressing themselves and hygiene. We also have qualified staffs providing additional classes to small groups of pre-schoolers to get them ready for school.

  • Are there additional activities?

    We hold sport sessions every week for preschoolers and a music class for babies and toddlers.

Fees and Funding

  • What do my fees include?

    Fees include all meals, formula milk for children under 1 year along with standard and extracurricular activities, and outings.

  • Do you offer funded places?

  • What is the Refer a Friend scheme?

    Any parent with a child currently attending a Little Treasure Daycare can refer a friend. Both parents will receive a discount! Full terms and conditions can be found Here.

Food and Safety

Teaching

  • What qualifications do your Staffs have?

    From apprentices to Level 5 qualified practitioners, at least 50% of the Staffs at each nursery is qualified.

  • Who’s in charge?

    The nursery has a manager and Assistant Manager. Additionally, each room has a assistant who reports to the main management team.

  • What is a Key Person?

    A Key Person is assigned to a set of children to track their development progress each term and make reports based on this, and communicate with the parents on their progress.

Communication

  • How do you keep parents updated?

    Yes, we use our parent communication platform. Each parent will have access to view nap times, food intake and any messages. We also share photos and information with parents through the platform.
